This is a fabulous English stoneware Salt Pig by the Henry Watson Potteries of Wattisfield, Suffolk.
Wattisfield Ware goes back to the early 1800s & this Pig probably dates to the 1920s or '30s with the grey Made in England backstamp.
Finished in a gorgeous chestnut treacle glaze inside & out, it can be either wall hung or used on the worktop.
In lovely antique condition with no faults or damage. Typical light crazing to the glaze.
Please have a good look at all the photos.
Maximum height about 20cm tall x 14.5cm wide x 15cm deep. 10cm front aperture. 930g weight.
Wonderfully stylish, it would be equally at home in a country cottage or Modernist/Minimalist setting. Simple, functional & beautiful.
